Seocho-gu Holds ‘2023 Seocho-gu Residents Sports Festival’ at Banpo Sports Complex on the 29th, Bringing Together 18 Districts After 4 Years
Family Participation Sports Including Tug of War, Ring Toss, Ball Filling, Curling, Vision Tower Building, and VR Sports
Event Zones Featuring Experience Spaces, Amusement Parks, Air Bounce Basketball, and Soccer Matches
Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced that on the 29th, it will hold the ‘2023 Seocho-gu Residents Sports Festival’ at Banpo Sports Complex, bringing together 400,000 Seocho families.
This event, held for the first time in four years since 2019, is a place of communication and harmony with participation from teams and cheering squads from 18 districts of Seocho-gu, as well as about 10,000 Seocho residents.
Especially this year, the program was designed to avoid excessive competition and to allow everyone to enjoy the event with one heart.
The sports events include ▲Tug of War ▲Hope Ring Toss ▲Cooperative Ball Filling ▲Field Curling ▲Vision Tower Building, which anyone regardless of age or gender can participate in, focusing on easy and safe events.
In addition to official events, simple but fun side games such as OX Quiz and POP UP Rock-Paper-Scissors were prepared for residents who find exercise difficult.
Since this is an event for the whole family to enjoy together, various side events such as Seoripul Amusement Park and Penalty Shootout Soccer Event Zone were prepared. Participants can experience VR sports zones, mini Viking rides, motorbikes, kiddie trains, and air bounce basketball here.
Also, throughout the venue, diverse experience programs such as clown balloon play, face painting, keyring making using coffee grounds, and photo zones are offered to create precious memories.
The celebratory performances of the day include musical performances by the Seoripul Youth Arts Group Oriental Renaissance, demonstrations by the Seocho-gu Taekwondo Demonstration Team, and cheerleader support, delighting residents’ eyes and ears.
After the games, awards will be given for overall victory and individual event wins based on scores and participation such as cheering. Participants will also have a chance to win generous prizes including refrigerators, stylers, TVs, and washing machines.
Jeon Seong-su, Mayor of Seocho-gu, said, “This is the first event in four years since the COVID-19 pandemic where all Seocho residents gather, and I hope it will be a great festival of harmony and communication where everyone laughs and enjoys together.”
Geumcheon-gu Holds Couples Healing Camp ‘Re-Re Ppyu-cance’ Event on May 21 to Celebrate Couples Day
A Relationship Enhancement and Communication Strengthening Project for Couples Married Over 20 Years and Aged 50 or Older
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced that from May 19 to 20, the couples healing camp ‘Re-Re Ppyu-cance’ will be held again at the Geumcheon-gu Family Center.
‘Re-Re Ppyu-cance’ was prepared to commemorate Couples Day, which reminds the importance of marital relationships and aims to foster a family-friendly social environment for Geumcheon residents.
The participants are 15 couples living in Geumcheon-gu who are aged 50 or older and have been married for more than 20 years.
At the Korea Cultural Training Center located in Gongju-si, Chungnam Province, healing sessions such as ‘Forest Healing Meditation’ for couples and lectures on ‘Couple Communication and Dialogue’ for a happy future will be conducted.
Applications can be made through the ‘Program Guide’ on the Geumcheon-gu Family Center website or by visiting the center until April 28. After document screening, the list of participants will be posted on the center’s website on May 8 and individual notifications will be sent.
Since 2018, with support from Geumcheon-gu, the center has planned various events commemorating Couples Day. These include ‘Talk Concerts’ for couples, various date courses under the theme ‘1010235 (Passionately Loving),’ and a reminder wedding program called ‘My Groom, My Bride,’ creating unforgettable memories for participating middle-aged and elderly couples.
Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “Through this event, I hope couples can reflect on the meaning of family by rekindling respect and love for each other,” and added, “We will continue to strive to make Geumcheon-gu a family-friendly district.”
