Mirae Asset Life Accelerates Transition to 'Digital Insurer'

Full Implementation of Electronic Documents and Operation of Video Service Counters

Mirae Asset Life Insurance is accelerating its transformation into a 'digital insurance company' by changing both online and offline operations.


On the 24th, Mirae Asset Life Insurance announced that it is focusing on this strategy. Previously, in 2021, Mirae Asset Life Insurance became the first in the domestic insurance industry to implement 'separation of product manufacturing and sales,' establishing a work environment focused on digital innovation and strengthening product competitiveness. The aim is to enhance non-face-to-face channels and concentrate on its strength in variable insurance.


In July last year, the Customer Plaza was transformed into a customer-oriented 'Digital Lounge.' The Digital Lounge is a space where visitors can freely experience the latest digital financial services without the constraints of an office environment. Desired services are conveniently provided through video call counters.


Earlier, in December 2020, a 'paperless system' was introduced at customer service counters such as the Customer Plaza, where customers visit to conduct business. All business documents related to insurance and loans were converted to electronic documents, and mobile document exchange was enabled through electronic certificates and electronic power of attorney.


The online platform was also revamped by integrating previously separately operated websites such as the main homepage, cyber counters, and online insurance into one, providing a consistent user environment and experience.


Kim Nam-young, Head of Digital Innovation Division at Mirae Asset Life Insurance, said, "Mirae Asset Life Insurance holds a competitive advantage in the non-face-to-face business sector within the increasingly competitive digital financial market, including big tech online financial platforms like Naver and Kakao, as well as the MyData (personal credit information management) industry. We will lead the supply of digital innovation services by building an integrated mobile app that includes MyData services in the future."
