Operating 8 Housing Sites with 155 Units, Serving as a Stepping Stone for Youth Social Advancement
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Suhee) is set to hold a move-in welcome ceremony on the 26th for the youth startup housing 'Amsa Yega (Branch 8)', created to fully support young entrepreneurs in the cultural and artistic fields.
Since 2016, the district has been collaborating with Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation to provide demand-oriented customized public rental housing projects that allow youth to live and work simultaneously.
Currently, a total of 8 sites with 155 units have been established in Gildong (1), Sangil (1), Seongnae (1), Amsa (2), and Cheonho (3), housing youth engaged in various fields such as the 4th industrial revolution, leather crafts, YouTube creators, culture and arts, and general startups.
The newly established 'Amsa Yega' (8th branch) youth housing began recruiting residents in October last year, and by March this year, 14 young people working in cultural and artistic fields such as theater, music, and broadcasting have moved in.
The exclusive area ranges from 30 to 34㎡, with rental deposits between 22.86 million and 42.45 million KRW, and monthly rents from 235,500 to 437,400 KRW.
At the upcoming move-in welcome ceremony, the youth residents will perform the opening show themselves.
Lee Suhee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, stated, “Housing support policies are essential for young people entering society for the first time. In particular, we will continue to play a stepping stone role in resolving housing issues for young entrepreneurs in various fields such as culture and arts, helping them settle in society.”
