"126,000 Won per Bowl"... 'Small Luxury' Hotel Mango Bingsu Exceeds 100,000 Won

Hotel bingsu, a representative of summer's "small luxury," is in full preparation to captivate customers. For the first time in the industry, a mango bingsu priced over 100,000 won has appeared.

The Four Seasons Hotel will sell the "Jeju Apple Mango Garden Bingsu" from July 1 to September 30. The price is 126,000 won, which is 31% more expensive than last year's "Golden Jeju Apple Mango Bingsu" (96,000 won).

Among 5-star hotels, the Four Seasons Hotel is the first to launch an apple mango bingsu priced over 100,000 won for a single item. It includes more than two diced Jeju-grown apple mangoes, topped with lime and coconut jelly, mango compote, and mango sorbet.

The Shilla Hotel mango bingsu, known as the original apple mango bingsu, barely maintained the 100,000 won mark. The mango bingsu, sold from July 27 to August 31, is priced at 98,000 won. This is an 18.1% increase from last year (83,000 won), keeping the joke that it is "more expensive than one share of Hotel Shilla stock" still valid. One share of Hotel Shilla stock closed at 78,700 won on the 21st.

Lotte Hotel Seoul sells Jeju apple mango bingsu at the Peninsula Lounge from May 4 to August. The price is 92,000 won for two people and 170,000 won for 3 to 4 people, which are 4.5% and 6% increases from last year, respectively.

Last May, the bingsu sales at Grand InterContinental Parnas Seoul and InterContinental COEX Seoul more than doubled compared to the same period the previous year.

It remains to be seen whether the high-priced bingsu will attract consumers this year despite the price increase.
