On the 22nd (local time), the two players recorded a 10-under 62 in the third round of the PGA Tour's '2-man team battle' Zurich Classic (total prize money $8.6 million) held at Louisiana TPC (par 72, 7,425 yards) in Avondale, Louisiana, USA, in the four-ball format (each player plays their own ball and the better score is counted), placing them in 2nd place (25-under 191).
Starting from a tie for 2nd place, one stroke behind, Im Sung-jae and Mitchell made 10 birdies without any bogeys. They swept two sets of three consecutive birdies on holes 1-3 and 6-8. They are one stroke behind the leader. Im Sung-jae and Mitchell aim for a come-from-behind victory in the final round's foursomes format (two players alternate shots with one ball). Im Sung-jae has two career PGA Tour wins, and Mitchell has one. Both players share the common achievement of winning the Honda Classic.
Bo Ho-sler and Wyndham Clark (both USA) maintained their position at the top of the leaderboard for the third consecutive day by shooting 10 under par (26-under 190). The 'English golfing brothers' Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick are tied for 7th place (21-under 195), defending champions Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele (both USA), Presidents Cup stars Kim Si-woo and Kim Joo-hyung, as well as An Byeong-hun and Kim Sung-hyun, are tied for 13th place (19-under 197).
