This program was conducted as an education session explaining types of voice phishing through case studies, and informing participants about how to respond and prevent damage if it occurs.
Additionally, there was a session explaining essential but potentially difficult financial knowledge for marriage immigrant women, including how to open an account, basic ATM terminology, how to use mobile banking, basic knowledge of financial products, and methods of overseas remittance.
A Vietnamese marriage immigrant woman who received the education said, “I once received a text message related to voice phishing after coming to Korea and was initially confused, but today’s education was very helpful.” She added, “The financial education was also explained in an easy-to-understand way, which was very helpful.”
Yoon Kyung-hee, the mayor of Cheongsong-gun, stated, “We will continue to provide maximum support so that marriage immigrant women can better adapt to life in Korea and live safely.”
