Citizens Also Inspect... Korea National Oil Corporation Holds First Integrity Citizen Auditor Meeting

Korea National Oil Corporation held a Clean Citizen Auditor meeting to share its achievements so far and gather opinions.

On the 21st, Korea National Oil Corporation held a Clean Citizen Auditor meeting at its Ulsan headquarters to share the results of the 2022 comprehensive integrity evaluation and to listen to opinions on the 2023 anti-corruption and integrity activity promotion plan and corruption-prone areas.

Clean Citizen Auditors are citizens or experts appointed by public institutions who can objectively identify and request improvements in corruption-prone areas. If necessary, they can also request amendments to internal regulations, internal audits, and even participate in internal audits.

The Integrity Citizen Auditor meeting of Korea National Oil Corporation is currently in progress.

At the meeting held that day, the Clean Citizen Auditors listened to the basic direction and major tasks of the corporation’s 2023 anti-corruption and integrity activity promotion plan and presented various opinions to improve integrity.

Choi Hyung-joo, Standing Auditor of the Korea National Oil Corporation, said, “Following the opinions of the Clean Citizen Auditors, the Oil Corporation will accelerate the discovery and improvement of corruption-prone areas to establish itself as a trustworthy and clean public enterprise.”

The Oil Corporation introduced the Clean Citizen Auditor system in 2011 to improve corruption-prone areas and currently operates with three appointed experts in each field: Choi Hak-gyun, Hwang Jae-young, and Lee Sang-cheol.
