Seven Eleven Signs Business Agreement with Gwangju Dong-gu for Rapid Emergency Response

Automated External Defibrillator Installation

Seven Eleven announced that it has signed a business agreement with Dong-gu Office of Gwangju Metropolitan City, Dongbu Police Station, and Dongbu Fire Station to enhance disaster prevention and response capabilities.

Seven Eleven has designated 13 major stores as shelters in emergency situations and plans to allow anyone to freely use the fire extinguishers installed inside the stores in case of fire. In addition, automated external defibrillators (AEDs) will be installed to create an environment that enables quick response in the event of emergencies such as cardiac arrest.

Meanwhile, Seven Eleven signed a business agreement with Seoul City last February and is gradually introducing AEDs to about 50 stores located in areas with high foot traffic. Since January, two employees holding nurse licenses and local firefighters have conducted training on AED usage and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for headquarters and nationwide branch employees.

A Seven Eleven representative said, “Given the nature of convenience stores that are open 24 hours, we feel a greater sense of responsibility as we add meaning to being a safe space that promotes citizens’ safety,” and added, “We will continue to make various efforts to ensure that Seven Eleven can be utilized as the most effective social safety infrastructure.”
