KT DS unveils digital solutions 'S-Pass' and 'Beast' for the first time

Two digital innovation solutions from KT DS are featured at the ‘World IT Show 2023’ currently underway at COEX in Seoul. These solutions have never been publicly revealed before. KT DS is an IT service specialist company within the KT Group. The World IT Show 2023 runs until the 21st. The exhibition hall, themed ‘Safe and Fast Digital Transformation (DX),’ is operating inside the KT exhibition hall along with 15 digital innovation services from KT.

The first solution is the smart safety management platform ‘SPASS.’ It serves as a ‘smart control tower’ for industrial sites. It protects workers from serious accidents and provides situation reporting and response manuals for supervisors when incidents occur. This safety solution also offers integrated monitoring functions.

Visitors can experience the effects of ‘SPASS’ at the exhibition. This is done through an integrated dashboard screen applied in actual sites and intelligent CCTV that detects and warns of hazardous zones. Additionally, engineers who developed the solution personally explain all functions, including map-based workplace status widgets, smart safety equipment inspections, alarm follow-ups, and safety and health management.

The second solution is the API (Application Programming Interface) integrated management solution ‘BEAST.’ APIs act as gateways in communication networks. They are essential for connecting smart devices and all digital services. KT DS developed BEAST to integrate large-scale service connections and data transfers into a single solution to enhance speed and quality. The expertise gained from operating Korea’s largest KT communication network was instrumental.

At the ‘BEAST Zone,’ visitors can observe the movement paths and control processes of communication traffic. It also helps users understand BEAST by representing access, speed, and connection status between different services with images such as traffic lights and graphs. Jegal Jeongsuk, Head of KT DS Platform Service Division, said, “We have consolidated the experience and capabilities accumulated in the KT Group’s platform sector to showcase two digital innovation solutions at this World IT Show.” She added, “In addition to the exhibited solutions, we are preparing additional solutions such as the remote mobile app testing solution (Uptempo).”
