According to the county on the 18th, this service was prepared to establish a foundation for building an offshore wind power industry ecosystem through the Shinan 8.2GW offshore wind power complex project, the world's largest scale, aiming to discover and nurture related companies, establish a maintenance base, and create regional win-win jobs.
The Shinan offshore wind power 8.2GW project is expected to attract 48.5 trillion KRW in private investment, bring in 40 companies, and create 120,000 new jobs.
In particular, upon completion of the 8.2GW offshore wind power project, it is anticipated that 1,640 maintenance specialists will be needed. TUV SUD Korea, which signed a business agreement with Shinan County, established an offshore wind power safety and maintenance training institute within Shinan County in November last year and is currently operating expert training programs.
County Governor Park Woo-ryang said, "This report meeting provided a good opportunity to enhance understanding of the offshore wind power industry ecosystem, including discovering alternative projects for fishermen and win-win models," adding, "We will contribute to revitalizing the local economy by establishing a systematic industrialization strategy, creating quality jobs, and building a new industrial ecosystem through Shinan offshore wind power."
