Dong-Eui Science University has been selected for the government-funded Early Employment Contract Department project K-MOOC+ specialized course.
The Early Employment Contract Department project for junior colleges is an educational program where universities and companies contract to train personnel with practical field skills, allowing students to obtain an associate degree in just three semesters.
Nationwide, 8 general universities and 7 junior colleges operate early employment contract departments. Dong-Eui Science University has been running the Smart Beauty Care Department, Smart Food Cooking Department, and Smart Cosmetics Department for three years under the project vision of "Smart Education, Best Job."
In 2022, at the performance exchange and networking event hosted by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, Kangho Food, an industry participant in the early employment contract department, was selected as the corporate sector winner and received the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Award.
In the 2023 annual evaluation, Dong-Eui Science University secured a project budget of 1.21 billion KRW, with an increase of 70 million KRW.
Following four consecutive years of selection for the K-MOOC project, the university was selected for the 2023 Korean-style Online Open Course K-MOOC+ project.
K-MOOC courses are Korean-style online open courses that provide university lectures online for free to the general public. K-MOOC+ courses are specialized courses that incorporate immersive content using the latest technology and advanced interactive techniques.
The course selected at Dong-Eui Science University is titled "Finding Health in Traditional Fermented Foods of Jang Flowering Meta College," a specialized course that enhances 1:1 interaction with learners using an immersive metaverse platform.
President Kim Young-do of Dong-Eui Science University stated, “We plan to contribute to providing lifelong learning opportunities for all citizens by operating new majors that reflect rapidly changing social demands and creating an online education environment where learners’ needs are met and learning is enjoyable.”
