Chevrolet Focuses on Increasing Domestic Production... "Responding to Explosive Demand"

한국GM announced on the 16th that the global brand Chevrolet’s ‘Trax Crossover’ is creating a contract frenzy, with the ACTIV and RS trims, which feature premium specifications, overwhelmingly dominating the contract ratio.


Analysis of contract data for the Chevrolet Trax Crossover revealed that the vast majority of customers chose the ACTIV and RS trims, indicating a significantly high selection rate for the higher trims. These two popular trims are characterized by distinct designs tailored to different consumer lifestyles.


The RS trim, standing for Rally Sport, embodies Chevrolet’s racing heritage with a sleek design and a focus on dynamic performance. The ACTIV trim, specialized for outdoor activities, features a more refined and muscular design, earning great affection from consumers.

Seoyoung Deuk, Executive Director of GM Korea Sales Division, stated, “To repay the enthusiastic support from customers for the Trax Crossover, we plan to concentrate all our capabilities on increasing domestic production centered on the most chosen ACTIV and RS trims, ensuring faster delivery of the products.”


Launched for customer delivery in April, the Trax Crossover is a crossover model that combines the excellent driving performance of a sedan with the versatility of a sport utility vehicle (SUV). It achieved 10,000 pre-orders in the shortest period among Chevrolet products in Korea, gaining recognition for its outstanding product value. Within just seven business days after the start of pre-orders, the number of contracts surpassed 13,000, expanding the horizon of the domestic crossover market and leading the segment’s popularity.


Moreover, the Chevrolet Trax Crossover continues to receive explosive market responses globally, including the U.S., with approximately 16,000 units shipped last month. To actively respond to the explosive demand in both global and domestic markets, Chevrolet plans to increase production at the GM Changwon plant and make every effort.


Chevrolet held customer events at Starfield Hanam and Starfield Goyang for Trax Crossover purchase consultations and test drives, attracting over 17,000 visitors and creating a rush phenomenon, concluding successfully. Chevrolet will also hold vehicle exhibitions and large-scale test drive events at Lotte Outlet Gimhae on the day of the announcement and at Lotte Outlet Isiapolis from the 21st to the 23rd.


The prices of the Chevrolet Trax Crossover (based on the reduced individual consumption tax) are ▲LS 20.52 million KRW ▲LT 23.66 million KRW ▲ACTIV 26.81 million KRW ▲RS 27.39 million KRW. They are available at Chevrolet showrooms nationwide.
