"Explosion Sound Before Speech by Japanese PM Kishida... PM Evacuated Safely"

NHK "Silver can thrown and exploded... No information on injuries"

At around 11:30 a.m. on the 15th, NHK reported that a loud explosion occurred just before Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida began his speech after an on-site inspection in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. Prime Minister Kishida evacuated the scene and is reported to be unharmed.

As Prime Minister Kishida was about to give a support speech for a local by-election at Saikazaki Fishing Port in Wakayama Prefecture, a sudden explosion occurred. According to eyewitnesses at the scene, a man threw an object that appeared to be a silver canister, followed by a loud explosion.


The man was arrested at the scene, and the area became chaotic.


According to local fire authorities, there are no reports of injuries.
