'K Design' District Wins 7 Works at iF Design Awards

District, a leading company in ‘K-Design,’ has achieved the remarkable feat of winning the German ‘iF Design Award’ for three consecutive years. On the 14th, District announced, “All seven entries submitted to the 2023 iF Design Award received main prizes.” The iF Design Award is one of the world’s top three design awards held annually. This year, over 11,000 entries from 56 countries worldwide were submitted.

District won main prizes in the communication category for the public media projects ‘CITY’ and the ‘Dior Seongsu Concept Store Teaser.’ ‘CITY’ is a public art piece that transformed a roughly 1400 sqm electronic billboard illuminating a plaza into a surreal space where art performances take place. The ‘Dior Seongsu Concept Store Teaser’ was a project unveiled on a large screen at COEX K-pop Square during the opening of the Dior concept store, in collaboration with the high-end fashion brand Dior.

Additionally, the ‘Busan 2030 World Expo Promotion Campaign,’ the model house ‘Believe Ascent,’ Lotte Department Store Dongtan Art Collection project ‘Shapes of Life,’ the ‘Dior Seongsu Concept Store Media Wall,’ and ‘OCEAN: Turtle Ship and the Turbulent Waves,’ presented alongside the Turtle Ship at the War Memorial, all received main prizes.

With this year’s awards, District ranked first worldwide in the campaign category and fourth worldwide in the cultural exhibition category in the ‘iF Ranking.’ This ranking is announced based on design award scores accumulated over the past five years. District also won main prizes with four works each in 2021 and last year.

Lee Seong-ho, CEO of District, said, “This year’s awards represent the largest number of winning works in our history, spanning diverse fields such as communication, interior, and user experience. Moving forward, we aim to grow into a company that provides captivating visual experiences to many through the creation of content that fuses technology and art across the entire spectrum of visual arts, including commercial design, public art, and media art exhibitions.”
