Former co-representative of the Green Party, Kim Yewon, was investigated by the police on charges of smoking and possessing marijuana.
On the 14th, the Seoul Western Police Station announced that Kim was booked in February on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
The police reportedly conducted a pre-booking investigation on Kim in January and detected the charges. During a search of Kim's residence, marijuana was discovered.
The police plan to ascertain the exact circumstances of the case going forward.
Kim stepped down from the co-representative position on February 28 due to "personal reasons."
