"Protecting the Youngest of the Nation's Land!"... Ulleung-gun Conducts Joint Civil-Military-Honor Training

Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk, conducted the region's first-ever comprehensive local defense exercise called the 'Hwarang Training.'

On the 14th, Ulleung-gun announced that from the 11th to the 13th, it carried out its own Hwarang Training involving civilians, government, military, police, and fire departments. Hwarang Training is a comprehensive exercise held every two years at the city and provincial level, and Ulleung-gun had never conducted it before due to the absence of brigade-level or higher units.

"Protecting the Youngest of the Nation's Land!"... Ulleung-gun Conducts Joint Civil-Military-Honor Training Ulleung County has been conducting a joint Hwarang training exercise involving civilians, government officials, military, police, and firefighters from the 11th to the 13th.

The exercise was conducted for the first time under the leadership of the Navy's 118th Early Warning Squadron to protect the lives of military personnel and residents from various security threats, such as North Korean missiles being launched toward the East Sea and Ulleungdo.

This training involved all national defense elements, including Ulleung-gun, the Navy's 118th Early Warning Squadron, Ulleung Police Station, the Air Force's 319th Air Defense Control Battalion, Ulleung 119 Safety Center, and Donghae Coast Guard Station.

Considering the unique terrain and weather conditions of the Ulleungdo area, a situation similar to reality was created to conduct joint operations.

Starting with the Integrated Defense Council, an Integrated Defense Support Headquarters and a joint military-police situation room were established within the Ulleung-gun Office to enable smooth operational support and active response.

Nam Han-kwon, the mayor of Ulleung-gun, said, "We will continue to conduct emergency preparedness training to raise awareness of regional security and safety."
