The three major telecom companies raised the official subsidy for the Galaxy S23 series up to 500,000 KRW on the 14th. This comes about two months after the Galaxy S23 series was launched in February.
The official subsidy for the Galaxy S23 series from the three telecom companies ranges from 255,000 to 500,000 KRW depending on the plan.
SK Telecom offers subsidies ranging from 287,000 to 500,000 KRW depending on the plan. For the 5GX Prime plan (89,000 KRW per month), the official subsidy was raised from 150,000 to 480,000 KRW. For the 5GX Platinum plan (125,000 KRW per month), a subsidy of 500,000 KRW is provided.
KT provides subsidies from 255,000 to 500,000 KRW. Customers using the Choice Basic plan (90,000 KRW per month) or higher can receive the maximum subsidy of 500,000 KRW.
LG Uplus offers subsidies ranging from 280,000 to 500,000 KRW. Customers using the 5G Premier Essential plan (85,000 KRW per month) or higher receive an official subsidy of 500,000 KRW.
The Galaxy S23 starts at 1,155,000 KRW for the base model, 1,353,000 KRW for the Plus, and 1,599,400 KRW for the Ultra. With the maximum official subsidy of 500,000 KRW and an additional subsidy (up to 15% of the official subsidy) of 75,000 KRW, the base model price drops to 580,000 KRW, making it a 'half-price phone.'
Along with the increase in official subsidies, the three telecom companies are running smartphone promotions. SK Telecom is holding a spring smartphone purchase promotion at its official online store, T Direct Shop. Customers who purchase the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Flip4·Z Fold4, or Galaxy Quantum3 at T Direct Shop will be entered into a draw to win prizes for a total of 800 people. Prizes include Hana Tour travel vouchers worth 2 million KRW (2 winners), Rimowa suitcases (5 winners), Yakson House vouchers worth 600,000 KRW (10 winners), Lotte World all-day passes (4 tickets for 20 winners), Kodak Mini Shot 3 Polaroid cameras (30 winners), SK gas station gift cards worth 100,000 KRW (50 winners), and 20,000 Naver Pay points (683 winners).
KT will hold an event for Galaxy S23 series buyers at nationwide KT stores and its official online mall KT Sho (shop.kt.com) from the 15th to the 28th. To celebrate the sale of 00 million units of the Galaxy S23 series domestically, KT will give away Galaxy Book3 Pro, Galaxy Tab S8+ (WiFi 128GB), Sofitel accommodation vouchers, and GS25 gift certificates (10,000 KRW) to a total of 2,323 winners.
LG Uplus is running the ‘Why Not April Uplus Week’ event, offering customers who reserve a visit to offline stores the chance to experience Samsung Electronics devices such as the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Z Flip4, along with mobile gift certificates and discount coupons. Customers who select a store on the 'Uplus WEEK homepage' by the 18th and visit in person between the 19th and 22nd will receive GS25 convenience store mobile gift certificates (5,000 KRW) and LG Uplus data commerce platform ‘U+Kok’ discount coupons (5,000 KRW) on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 50,000 people.
