The U.S. government announced on the 12th (local time) that it has sanctioned 120 organizations and individuals across more than 20 countries who supported Russian institutions and companies in evading sanctions after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The sanctions targets include a network supporting Alisher Usmanov, a Russian steel magnate, in evading sanctions, as well as USM Holdings, which Usmanov uses to own and control most of his companies.
The State Department also added two Russian organizations that militarized and indoctrinated students to support Russia's invasion of Ukraine to the sanctions list.
Additionally, China’s Dehua Wuhang Technology Co., Ltd., which supplied Ukrainian satellite imagery to groups related to the Russian private military company Wagner Group, and the Russian private military company Patriot PMC were also included in the sanctions.
In a statement, Secretary of State Tony Blinken said, "The United States will continue to take action against those supporting Russia and the war in Ukraine, including third-country actors supporting Russia’s war in Ukraine."
