Gwangju Nam-gu Council Forms Research Group for Ordinance Revision

On the 12th, the Gwangju Nam-gu Council announced that the Council Steering Committee reviewed and approved the registration of the 'Ordinance Maintenance Research Group' as a council member research organization and its research activity plan.

The 'Ordinance Maintenance Research Group' consists of eight members: Councilors No Soyoung, Hwang Kyenga, Nam Hohyun, Shin Jonghyuk, Jeong Changsoo, Kim Kyungmuk, Park Yonghwa, and Park Sanggil.

Through the research group, the councilors plan to carry out various activities including ▲identifying the status of ordinances that have not reflected amendments to higher-level laws ▲seeking directions through expert lectures and discussion sessions ▲studying and reviewing utilization plans of precedents through field visits to advanced regions.

Representative Councilor No Soyoung stated, "We will strengthen the autonomous legislative function of the local council by identifying the current status of ordinances that directly affect residents' lives and conducting comprehensive maintenance of unnecessary or overlapping ordinances."
