7 Companies Selected for Labor-Management Partnership Support Led by Ministry of Employment and Labor
Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Park Byung-gyu) announced on the 11th that seven local companies participating in the business field briefing session held last February were selected for the ‘2023 Labor-Management Partnership Program Support Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
It is expected to serve as an opportunity to spread voluntary labor-management coexistence and cooperation efforts for overcoming corporate crises and achieving new leaps forward.
The Labor-Management Partnership Program Support Project is operated by the Korea Labor Foundation and aims to promote workplace innovation through the establishment of cooperative labor-management relations. Depending on the type and industry of the company, it supports the costs of programs jointly carried out by labor and management.
Daegyeong EM Co., Ltd., located in Pyeong-dong Industrial Complex in Gwangsan-gu, overcame a turnover rate that once reached 93% through this project and has become a nationwide model of labor-management coexistence.
Gwangsan-gu, which is focusing on ‘workplace innovation’ in the 8th local government term, held a business field briefing session with the Korea Labor Foundation last February to help spread such success stories further.
The briefing session attracted keen interest, with participation not only from Gwangsan-gu but also from other districts in Gwangju and companies in Jeonnam. In particular, as a result, seven companies from Gwangsan-gu that applied for this year’s contest were finally selected for the project.
These companies will carry out labor-management cooperation projects from this month until November.
Gwangsan-gu plans to accelerate efforts to create an atmosphere where more companies can establish mutually beneficial labor-management relations and engage in creating their own ‘good workplaces.’
Park Byung-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, stated, “The voluntary efforts of local companies to create good workplaces where labor and management coexist are injecting new vitality into the regional economy,” and added, “We will do our best to make a corporate culture where labor and management actively communicate and participate together become widespread.”
