"Experience Returning to Farming and Prepare for Settlement"
Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam Province operates the ‘Living in the Countryside’ program to encourage successful settlement by allowing urban residents who wish to return to farming or rural living to reside in rural areas and experience farming, jobs, and rural life for six months.
Now in its third year, this program has selected Haebari Experience Village in Changseon-myeon as the operating village, with a total of 3 teams and 4 participants in the first session. An orientation was held on the 10th, and the program will run for six months until October.
The ‘Living in the Countryside’ program being promoted this time is a ‘return-to-farming type,’ where prospective farmers participate in actual agricultural work to learn farming techniques and stay in accommodations provided by the operating village while attending training programs.
An official from Namhae-gun stated, “In addition to the Living in the Countryside program, we plan to support various experience programs to ensure that urban residents’ interest and willingness to return to farming and rural living lead to actual settlement.”
