Establishing a Foundation to Resolve Labor Shortage and Relaunch the Shipbuilding Industry
Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seung-hee) announced on the 7th that on the 5th, it signed a business agreement for job creation in the shipbuilding industry with Jeollanam-do, Mokpo City, local shipbuilding companies, and related organizations at the Jeollanam-do Shipbuilding Leap Center (Mokpo KT Center).

At the signing ceremony, Kim Young-jung, Head of the Yeongam-gun Job Economy Division, Yoo Hyun-ho, Head of the Jeollanam-do Job Economy Headquarters, Kim Byung-jung, Director of Planning and Youth Bureau of Mokpo City, Han In-kwon, Director of Mokpo Employment and Labor Office, and representatives from related organizations such as Hyundai Samho, Daehan Shipbuilding, and Daebul Industrial Complex Employers' Association attended and agreed to actively cooperate in expanding and discovering shipbuilding industry job projects.
According to the agreement, Yeongam-gun plans to support various projects to secure manpower for the leap in the shipbuilding industry, including the Shipbuilding Industry Tomorrow Savings Program, job leap incentive support, and reemployment support funds for skilled retirees.
A county official stated, "We expect this agreement to serve as an opportunity to revitalize the shipbuilding industry, which is experiencing a manpower shortage," adding, "Going forward, we will strengthen organic cooperation by working together with related support organizations and companies centered on the Shipbuilding Leap Center to discover various projects tailored to the shipbuilding industry's circumstances."
He also added, "We will do our best to promote projects to resolve the manpower shortage in the shipbuilding industry and lay the foundation for its re-leap."
