Leading 'Resource Recycling' After Collecting and Dismantling Waste Batteries
Energy distribution platform company Gomi Energy Delivery has successfully secured additional investment. It is evaluated that the growth momentum is gaining traction as it has continuously secured investment funds this year.
According to the investment banking (IB) industry on the 7th, Gomi Energy Delivery attracted seed investment from L-Cube Partners. This follows the investment received last month through ‘Lynn Energy Investment Fund No. 1,’ established by Lyn Ventures, a corporate venture capital (CVC) of SonyD, a KOSDAQ-listed company, securing additional funds.
Gomi Energy Delivery is a subsidiary of the global commerce platform company ‘Gomi Corporation.’ Gomi Energy Delivery distributes not only traditional energy products such as petroleum from the four major oil refiners and suppliers but also various eco-friendly energy products nationwide.
Additionally, it is preparing a business to collect, dismantle, and recycle used batteries. Financial investors (FIs) highly regard the growth potential of such a business and have made investment decisions accordingly.
Above all, the fact that it is already generating results has captivated the FIs. Gomi Energy Delivery recorded sales of 20 billion KRW and operating profit of 620 million KRW in the second half of last year. These figures represent increases of 123.1% and 480.3%, respectively, compared to sales and operating profit in the first half of the same year.
Last year’s total sales reached 29 billion KRW, and operating profit was 720 million KRW. Gomi Energy Delivery expects that although international oil prices will continue to fluctuate sharply for the time being, industrial production will soon recover, leading to an increase in petroleum sales prices and continued performance growth this year.
Gomi Energy Delivery plans to significantly expand new sales outlets and strengthen sales growth and profitability by discovering new suppliers through the investment funds. It is also preparing an eco-friendly energy business tailored to the increasing demand for electric vehicles in collaboration with SonyD, the parent company of Lyn Ventures, which previously invested. It is expected to actively evolve and develop as an eco-friendly petroleum distribution platform business.
Meanwhile, Gomi Energy Delivery is preparing to obtain venture company certification from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups as it officially begins a new digital platform business this year.
