4by4, Selected as a Supplier Company for the AI Voucher Support Project

Visual tech solution company Poby4Po announced on the 6th that it has been selected as a supplier company for the ‘2023 AI Voucher Support Project’ organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA).

The AI Voucher Support Project is a program in which NIPA provides demand companies that require artificial intelligence (AI) technology with vouchers worth up to 300 million KRW, enabling them to purchase and utilize necessary AI solutions from AI solution providers.

Following its selection as a supplier company, Poby4Po will provide its self-developed AI technology in the form of solutions to demand companies that require AI technology related to image quality enhancement and video restoration. For demand companies aiming to develop advanced image quality AI, Poby4Po plans to offer related consulting as needed.

Selected as a supplier company for the AI Voucher Support Project, Poby4Po is a visual tech solution company that researches and develops deep learning AI image quality enhancement technology and designs and provides ultra-realistic content experiences that offer high immersion based on this technology. Recently, through the ‘Keycut Play’ app in the Samsung Smart TV app store, it remastered the popular drama ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ from 13 years ago using its own AI technology, presenting it in 4K and 8K or higher image quality.

The image quality AI solution ‘Pixell,’ developed by its own AI research lab ‘Pixel Lab,’ has learned tens of thousands of ultra-high-definition video data of 4K or higher. It is equipped with a deep learning model that autonomously optimizes improvement criteria and intensity to express contrast ratio, saturation, noise, and sharpness?which determine image quality?similarly to what the human eye perceives.

Beyond improving videos to ultra-high definition (4K~8K), it is also capable of ‘cognitive image quality enhancement,’ which maintains a light video data size (bitrate) while enhancing the perceived image quality. It is expected to provide customized solutions according to the diverse needs of various companies within the industry.

Poby4Po is conducting industry-academic cooperation with Chung-Ang University’s ‘Graduate School of Advanced Imaging,’ which boasts the highest authority in the computer vision image field. It is also carrying out extensive collaborations across various fields to advance image quality enhancement AI technology, including making a strategic investment in the AI startup ‘AI Nation.’
