Wellkips announced on the 6th that it is accelerating its entry into new businesses in the food sector through the acquisition of Sodip B&F, a food manufacturing company with a 33-year history.
Wellkips, a leading domestic company in the health mask sector and aiming to become a global life care brand, is expanding its business areas into semiconductors, IT, bio/pharmaceuticals, and investment development. By acquiring Sodip B&F, it is concretizing its philosophy and corporate roadmap to always be with consumers for a healthy life.
Sodip B&F is a food-specialized manufacturing company with 33 years of history, engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of meat products, fresh foods, convenience foods, HMR (Home Meal Replacement) products, and franchise business operations.
The Sodip Yeongju Plant is a meat processing factory producing ham, sausage, Vienna sausage, etc. It has secured stable manufacturing technology and sales networks through OEM production for major domestic food companies as well as production and sales of its own products. Beyond manufacturing, it has strengthened its position in the B2B market by developing products with various domestic and international outsourcing companies.
The Sodip Incheon Plant, newly completed in June 2022, has received HACCP certification for fresh foods, convenience foods, and HMR items, and has been actively entering the market since 2023. Through differentiated low-sugar food materials, excellent overseas facilities, and a thorough quality control system, it plans to drive growth in the food business and expand the delicious diet meal brand "Yogocham."
Additionally, Sodip B&F operates about 80 franchise stores nationwide in road shops and special commercial districts based on 10 customized startup models such as Bapsang, Gatsurin, and Yogocham, and contributes to the activation of the Seoul Metropolitan Self-Sufficiency Center and the dining self-sufficiency business sector.
Wellkips, after obtaining MFDS certification for the first domestic yellow dust fine dust mask, has held the number one market share since 2016. It is a leading domestic mask manufacturer and seller with its own technology and manufacturing facilities capable of producing 120 million masks annually. In early 2020, during the COVID-19 outbreak, it was recognized by the government and consumers as a "good company" for proposing the first public mask supply, achieving the highest supply volume, and declaring a mask price freeze to overcome the crisis.
Wellkips is expanding into future new business sectors, life care, pre-growth IT, bio/pharmaceuticals, and investment development, aiming for a sustainable corporate ecosystem and a global life care brand. It currently has about 10 affiliates, including P&TD, Crova Hightech, and Sea Electronics.
