Intensive Crackdown for Establishing a Sound Distribution Order
Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will conduct a comprehensive crackdown on the illegal distribution of the 'Changnyeong Love Gift Certificate' until the 28th.
The main targets of the crackdown are ▲ receiving or exchanging gift certificates without selling goods or providing services (commonly known as 'Kkang', including acts such as proxy purchasing of gift certificates followed by immediate exchange at one's own affiliated store) ▲ operating restricted businesses such as gambling industries or entertainment establishments ▲ refusing payment with the Changnyeong Love Gift Certificate ▲ refusing to issue cash receipts or treating customers unfavorably compared to cash payments when selling goods.
Upon detection, fines of up to 20 million KRW will be imposed according to relevant laws, and unjust profits will be recovered.
The county plans to secure suspicious information on illegal distribution, such as exchanging consecutive gift certificate serial numbers and immediate exchange after purchase, based on the abnormal transaction detection system of the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation, the operator of the Changnyeong Love Gift Certificate. The crackdown team will directly visit the affiliated stores to verify illegal distribution.
A county official stated, "We will prevent illegal distribution of the Changnyeong Love Gift Certificate through continuous monitoring via the abnormal transaction system and focused publicity during the crackdown period," adding, "We will conduct a special crackdown to contribute to revitalizing the local economy through the proper circulation of the Changnyeong Love Gift Certificate."
