Recruitment of Participants for 'Mobile Healthcare' in Nam-gu, Gwangju

The mobile healthcare program will recruit 250 adults who have one or more health risk factors such as high blood pressure or triglycerides, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Residents who wish to participate in the mobile healthcare program can apply by calling the Health Promotion Division of Nam-gu Public Health Center.

Nam-gu will prioritize residents with multiple health risk factors through preliminary examinations, and provide all participants with wrist-worn activity trackers to continuously monitor their health status and eliminate health threats.

Participants will be able to receive regular health management services using the activity trackers linked to a mobile app from next month until November. Last year’s participants showed improvements in all tested areas including blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, waist circumference, triglycerides, and HDL cholesterol.

In particular, last year’s participants had an average triglyceride level of 135.9 mg/dL, but through the mobile healthcare program, which encouraged exercise and diet management, the average level was reduced to 127.4 mg/dL.
