This contest is held annually to actively incorporate projects needed by residents into district administration and to enhance transparency in financial management.

This year's project scale is a total of 2 billion KRW, with 600 million KRW allocated for district policy projects and 1.4 billion KRW for local issue projects.

District policy projects must be public interest projects benefiting a majority of residents with budgets under 100 million KRW, while local issue projects are small-scale projects under 50 million KRW aimed at resolving resident inconveniences, promoting welfare, and spreading community culture.

Any resident can participate, and project applications can be submitted through the Buk-gu Resident Participatory Budget website, by visiting the Planning and Coordination Office of Buk-gu Office in person, or by mail until June 30.

Submitted proposals will undergo feasibility reviews by relevant departments, on-site inspections by Resident Participatory Budget Committee subcommittees, followed by resident voting and final selection through on-site voting at the Resident Participatory Budget Committee general discussion in the second half of this year.

Moon In, the head of Buk-gu Office, said, "The Resident Participatory Budget Proposal Contest is a great opportunity for residents to directly propose, review, and participate in budget formulation," adding, "We hope many residents will show interest and participate so that various projects contributing to regional development will be proposed."
