The ceremony proceeded in the order of wearing integrity badges → reading the declaration of integrity administration → three cheers for the district’s integrity slogan, “Integrity Seongbuk! Starting with Me!” Following this, Lee Jimoon, Chairman of the Korea Integrity Movement Headquarters, gave a lecture titled “Leadership Leading the Organization, Integrity.” Lee Jimoon is also known for exposing fraudulent absentee voting in military voting during the National Assembly elections, which became one of the “Top 10 Public Interest Whistleblowing Cases That Changed Our Society” selected by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.

The integrity badge was self-produced with the azalea, known as “the flower of Seongbuk-gu” and symbolizing noble beauty and integrity, as its motif. All senior officials of Seongbuk-gu, including those from affiliated institutions, will continue to strengthen their commitment to practicing integrity daily by wearing the integrity badge.

Seongbuk-gu has been selected as an excellent integrity institution for two consecutive years in the comprehensive integrity evaluation of public institutions conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission. In 2023, aiming to become the top integrity institution, it has set the goal of “Creating a Happy and Integrity Seongbuk Together with a Pure Heart (淸心)” and is implementing four strategies and 21 promotion tasks.

Mayor Seungro Lee of Seongbuk-gu said, “The integrity slogan shouted together by all senior officials of Seongbuk-gu marks the beginning of Seongbuk’s top-grade integrity,” and added that as mayor, he will “take the lead with higher standards than anyone else to create a clear and clean public service culture.”
