This project involves the Ministry of Environment selecting 25 companies as subsidy recipients for the 2023 EV charger subsidy support project and providing subsidies based on submitted business plans for building EV charging infrastructure. A total of 74 projects were finally selected.

Accordingly, Hyundai Engineering will proceed with the EV charger installation and operation projects for six local governments (Goheung-gun, Asan-si, Osan-si, Imsil-gun, Hamyang-gun, Hapcheon-gun) and three Hyundai Motor Group affiliates (Hyundai Motor Company, Kia, Hyundai Mobis) for the zero-emission vehicle transition (K-EV100).

The total number of EV chargers supplied is 848 units, including 3 ultra-fast chargers, 374 fast chargers, and 471 slow chargers.

A Hyundai Engineering official stated, “In addition to local governments and group affiliates, we are building EV charging infrastructure across various living facilities such as factories, offices, commercial and residential facilities, and parking lots. As the EV market size is rapidly expanding, we are focusing on expanding EV charging infrastructure and will provide the best maintenance services based on our facility management capabilities and platform.”

Meanwhile, Hyundai Engineering established the EVC Business Team in October last year and is accelerating the expansion of EV charging infrastructure construction and supply with the goal of securing a TOP 5 position in the domestic market by 2025. In particular, in February, it signed an MOU with the EV charger manufacturer MotrexEV.
