Ulsan City to Promote 'Pet-Friendly City'

Applications Accepted from 5th, Event on May 14th

An unusual walking event filled with 'bark bark' sounds will be held at Taehwagang National Garden.

Ulsan City announced that on May 14th at 9 a.m., the 'Taehwagang National Garden Walking Contest with Daengdaengi' will be held at Taehwagang National Garden. This event will be held annually starting with this year's first event.

This contest, organized to spread a proper companion animal culture and promote animal welfare, will begin with a 'Companion Animal Health Walk' lecture by veterinarian Seol Chaehyun, who appeared on EBS's "There Are No Bad Dogs in the World."

Veterinarian Seol Chaehyun will also accompany the walking contest to provide participants with various information about companion animals.

In addition, there will be companion dog genetic information counseling, behavior correction programs, orchestra performances, companion dog sports viewing and experiences, as well as a meeting place with abandoned animals to establish a mature companion culture and actively promote adoption activation policies.

Anyone visiting Ulsan with a companion animal can apply to participate. Applications can be submitted from the 5th on the Ulsan Companion Animal Culture Center website or on-site on the day of the event.

An official from Ulsan City said, “We will operate various side events that everyone can participate in to properly spread the culture of companion animal care and make Ulsan a ‘companion-friendly’ city.”
