The "Sook Jjondeuki" product from "Eat the Company," which provides customized food services, won the Gold Award for Innovation at the global food expo "SIAL America 2023."
SIAL is one of the world's leading food exhibitions, offering a comprehensive view of global food trends. This year, it was held over three days from the 28th to the 30th of last month at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the United States.
The "Mom Pyeonhan Sook Jjondeuki," which won the Gold Award for Innovation at SIAL America 2023, is made from 100% plant-based ingredients and has received vegan certification from the Vegan Society in the UK. Compared to traditional Jjondeuki, it reduces the content of flour and sugar while adding konjac, domestic grains, and mugwort powder for enhanced health benefits. Sook Jjondeuki will be exhibited on a world tour for one year at SIAL network exhibitions held in various countries around the globe.
Kim Bong-geun, CEO of Eat the Company, said, "Jjondeuki, a soul food of Koreans, received positive responses from foreigners as well, earning the nickname 'vegan jerky' and attracting great interest from buyers." He added, "We will continue to innovate healthy Korean food to suit the global market and strive to promote K-food worldwide."
