‘SK Green Techno Campus’ to be Established in Bucheon Daejang New Town… SK Group Invests 1 Trillion Won

137,000㎡ Site Planned for Development in 2027
7 Affiliates Including SK Innovation to Move In

In 2027, the 'SK Green Techno Campus (tentative name)' will be established in the Bucheon Daejang Public Housing District (Bucheon Daejang New Town). SK Group plans to invest approximately 1 trillion KRW to house seven affiliates, including SK Innovation, in this location.

On the 4th, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced that it signed a residency and investment agreement for attracting the SK Green Techno Campus with Gyeonggi Province, Bucheon City, Bucheon Urban Corporation, SK Innovation, and SK Green Techno Campus at the Bucheon Art Center.

According to the agreement, SK Group will build the SK Green Techno Campus, an R&D complex for eco-friendly technology development such as next-generation batteries, semiconductor materials, and carbon reduction, in the Bucheon Daejang 1st Urban High-tech Industrial Complex.

The site covers approximately 137,000㎡ (41,000 pyeong), and SK Group plans to invest 1 trillion KRW by 2027.

About seven SK Group affiliates, including SK Innovation, SK Energy, and SK Geocentric, will move in, and around 3,000 research personnel are expected to work there.

Gyeonggi Province, LH, and Bucheon Urban Corporation, the project implementers of Bucheon Daejang New Town, will actively cooperate in carrying out all administrative procedures to support the timely settlement of the SK Green Techno Campus.

The signing ceremony was attended by LH President Lee Han-jun, Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon, Bucheon Mayor Jo Yong-ik, and SK Innovation CEO Kim Jun, among others.

President Lee Han-jun said, “We expect early revitalization of Bucheon Daejang New Town and the creation of high-quality jobs through attracting the SK Green Techno Campus. Additionally, we will actively strive to make Bucheon Daejang New Town a premium city by introducing smart technologies such as IT and mobility and constructing noise-free housing.”

Meanwhile, Bucheon Daejang New Town was designated as a public housing district in May 2020, with a total of 19,066 housing units to be supplied. LH aims to start construction in July.
