콘진원, Establishes Content Company Support Center in Busan

840 million won support... Opening near Yangjeong Station in December

The Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 4th that it has selected a consortium of Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency as the eleventh operator for the 'Regional Hub Content Company Support Center Establishment Support' project. With a budget of 8.4 billion KRW, the Busan Content Company Support Center will be established near Yangjeong Station in Busan by December this year.

The Regional Hub Content Company Support Center is an institution that performs ▲support for startup content production ▲support for discovering content companies ▲fostering regional startups ▲operation of talent development centers ▲employment-creating talent matching programs ▲hosting seminars to activate content IP ▲content linkage networking, among others. It aims to create a region-led industrial ecosystem and induce connections for startups, funding, and exports.


Last year, there were a total of 219 resident companies. Including these, the Korea Creative Content Agency supported 516 companies, leading to the creation of 1,111 new jobs and achieving sales of 151.1 billion KRW.


Representative successful companies include Yeolmae Company and People & Story. The former achieved excellent results in sales and investment attraction, being selected as one of the '1000 Innovative National Representative Companies' by the Financial Services Commission in 2021. The latter produced the webtoon "Siren," which was selected as 'Webtoon of the Year' on KakaoPage last year.


Currently, the Regional Hub Content Company Support Centers operate in nine locations: Incheon Metropolitan City, Asan City in Chungcheongnam-do, Daejeon Metropolitan City, Jeonju City in Jeollabuk-do, Naju City in Jeollanam-do, Gimhae City in Gyeongsangnam-do, Ulsan Metropolitan City, Pohang City in Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Daegu Metropolitan City. This year, centers will open in Busan Metropolitan City and Cheongju City.
