Yeongdeungpo-gu Provides 3 Million KRW per Person for ‘Small Business Owners’ Employment Support Subsidy’
From April 3 Until Budget is Exhausted... Support for Small Business Owners’ Employment Support Subsidy
Expected to Promote New Hiring, Employment Stability, and Revitalize Local Economy
Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will support the ‘Small Business Owners’ Employment Support Subsidy’ to promote new hiring and stabilize employment for small business owners struggling due to the economic downturn.
This project is promoted as a city-district cooperative initiative, and the district plans to lead efforts to reduce the management burden on small business owners and revitalize the local economy through employment subsidy support.
The support target is small business enterprises within the district that have newly hired regular employees this year. Hiring non-regular workers or enterprises with fewer than five employees are excluded. If employment is maintained for at least six months after new hiring, an employment subsidy of 3 million KRW per person (up to 10 people per enterprise) will be provided.
Eligible enterprises can apply for the employment subsidy starting three months after hiring based on employment insurance standards. The district verifies the maintenance of employment insurance three months after the application month and then disburses the subsidy.
The application period is from April 3 until the budget is exhausted. Small business owners wishing to apply should bring identification, subsidy application form, personal information consent form, business registration certificate, small business owner confirmation, employment insurance workplace acquisition list, and other required documents to the ‘Small Business Owners’ Employment Support Subsidy On-site Reception Desk’ on the B2 floor of the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office main building, or apply by mail, email, or fax.
For more details, refer to the Yeongdeungpo-gu website or contact the Yeongdeungpo-gu Regional Economy Division or the on-site reception desk.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “We hope this project will reduce the labor cost burden on small business owners and serve as an opportunity to promote new hiring. We will continue to do our best to help small business owners, the core of the local economy, recover economically and create a stable management environment.”
Geumcheon-gu Expands Childbirth Support Fund for Disabled Families
Childbirth Support Fund for Disabled Families Increased Up to 1.5 Million KRW
Residency Requirement Relaxed from 1 Year to 6 Months in Geumcheon-gu
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon) announced that it will provide childbirth support funds up to 1.5 million KRW to encourage childbirth and contribute to the livelihood stability of disabled families.
Since last year, Geumcheon-gu has been providing childbirth support funds from its budget according to the Geumcheon-gu Disabled Families Childbirth Support Fund Ordinance to alleviate the economic burden on disabled families, who incur higher costs during pregnancy and childbirth than non-disabled families.
This amount is separate from the 1 million KRW childbirth support fund supported by national and city funds.
Previously, support ranged from a minimum of 500,000 KRW to a maximum of 1 million KRW per newborn, but following this year’s ordinance revision, support has increased up to 1.5 million KRW.
If the father or mother of the newborn is a disabled person with a mild disability, 1 million KRW is provided; if the disability is severe (grades 1 to 3), 1.5 million KRW is provided.
Also, previously, disabled families who had resided in Geumcheon-gu for at least one year as of the newborn’s birth date were eligible, but from this year, the residency requirement has been reduced to six months, easing the support criteria.
Applicants can apply following guidance at the community service center when registering the birth and receive the support fund within 15 days. Applications must be made within one year from the birth date.
The childbirth support fund for disabled families can be received concurrently with the childbirth congratulatory gift (First Meeting Voucher) provided by Geumcheon-gu.
Yoo Sung-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We hope the expansion of the childbirth support fund for disabled families will not only reduce their economic burden but also contribute to spreading a culture of childbirth. We will continue to prepare various policies to alleviate the economic burden on disabled families.”
Dongjak-gu Receives Minister of the Interior and Safety Award for ‘Comprehensive Active Administration Evaluation’... The Only Seoul Autonomous District
Selected as an Excellent Institution for Prompt Active Administration and Support for Independent Living of Formerly Protected Children
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) has been recognized as an institution contributing to active administration in the ‘2022 Comprehensive Active Administration Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and will receive a ministerial commendation.
Among 243 local governments nationwide, 16 institutions were selected for commendation, and Dongjak-gu is the only one among the 25 autonomous districts of Seoul.
In particular, the district made efforts to collect citizens’ opinions and improve satisfaction through initiatives such as the ‘Active Echo Postcard.’
In fact, the ‘Seoul City Response Center On-site Civil Complaint Average Processing Time,’ which indicates the promptness of civil complaint handling, rose sharply from 25th place in early 2021 to 4th place in 2022.
Additionally, Dongjak-gu received high marks for transforming a former Air Force air-raid shelter underground bunker into the ‘Daebang Youth Culture House,’ a first nationwide.
Even amid the COVID-19 situation, the district took the lead in active welfare administration by supporting the independent living of formerly protected children (youth preparing for independence), the first among autonomous districts, expanding welfare targets to include low-income and vulnerable groups.
With this Minister of the Interior and Safety Award, the district is expected to receive a special grant of 20 million KRW by the end of June.
Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “This award is the result of all staff practicing citizen-centered administration with creative ideas and an active attitude. We will continue to actively work and communicate tirelessly to solve the daily difficulties of our citizens.”
