Eunpyeong-gu Mayor Kim Mi-kyung Completes Bulgwangcheon 'Cherry Blossom Marathon'

On the Morning of the 2nd, ‘Eunpyeong-gu Cherry Blossom Marathon’ Held at Bulgwangcheon, the Cherry Blossom Sanctuary

Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) successfully held the ‘2023 Eunpyeong Cherry Blossom Marathon’ on the morning of the 2nd at Bulgwangcheon, the cherry blossom sanctuary.

Held for the first time at Bulgwangcheon in line with the cherry blossom festival ‘Spring of Eunpyeong,’ the marathon attracted a total of 600 citizens, creating a lively atmosphere.

The marathon courses include two options: a 10 km course starting from the waterside stage at Bulgwangcheon, passing the entrance of Hongjecheon, and turning back at Mapo Seongmi Bridge, and a 5 km course starting from the waterside stage at Bulgwangcheon and turning back at Jeungsan Bridge.

The district arranged safety personnel at each section and set up changing rooms, storage facilities, and emergency medical booths to thoroughly prepare for any safety incidents.

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “I hope this was a happy time for everyone to fully enjoy the spring scent of Bulgwangcheon without masks,” and added, “We ask citizens to show great interest in the cherry blossom festival ‘Spring of Eunpyeong,’ held at the spring landmark Bulgwangcheon until the 8th.”
