Sold for 500 Won Missing '0'... 20s Woman's Touching Conscience

Correcting the Misprinted Price Properly
Store Owner: "There Are Such Conscientious People in the World"

An unmanned store owner shared a heartwarming and beautiful story that has become a hot topic.

On the 31st, a post titled "There are people this honest in the world" gained attention on the self-employed community 'Apeunikka Sajangida' (Because It's Painful, I'm a Boss).

The author, Mr. A, who introduced himself as running a comprehensive unmanned store in Nowon-gu, Seoul, shared on the 30th that a customer voluntarily paid the full price for an item recently.

Mr. A said, "At 10:40 PM on the 28th, a female customer estimated to be in her early 20s visited the store," and that she picked up a pet product labeled 5,000 won on the shelf and went to the checkout counter.

However, the product scanned at the unmanned payment machine was registered as 500 won. The woman looked puzzled, then after confirming the correct price (5,000 won), she increased the quantity to 10 and completed the payment.

Mr. A explained, "Among the recently stocked products, the 5,000 won item was mistakenly set as 500 won," adding, "Although the shelf had a 5,000 won price tag, the payment machine recognized it as 500 won."

He continued, "After checking the CCTV footage, I was very grateful. So I told the customer, 'Please choose any product you want as a gift,' and she picked a 600 won Jjoojjuba (a type of ice pop)."

Mr. A expressed his gratitude repeatedly, saying, "Even if she had bought it for 500 won, it would have been the store owner's fault, not the customer's, but I was deeply moved. The customer was as beautiful in appearance as she was in heart."

Finally, he added, "Unmanned stores sometimes have all kinds of difficult and dishonest customers. Recently, there have been many 'eat-and-run' articles that make self-employed people suffer, but I hope that honest people like this will also be widely known in the world."
