The San-nam Regional Health Promotion Center of the Cheongsong-gun Health and Medical Center in Gyeongbuk is taking the lead in creating a healthy village by promoting a healthy village development project with the residents of Hyeondong-myeon.
The Hyeondong-myeon Healthy Village Development Project is a project initiated in 2022 with the formation of a health committee and a launch ceremony, aimed at empowering local residents to overcome and solve the village's health issues on their own.
Residents of Hyeondong-myeon operate a walking club and health exercises (sports dance), and five health-vulnerable villages have been selected. The residents plan to run programs they desire in consultation with the dedicated team at the Health and Medical Center twice a month.
From April to November, a total of eight months, customized health promotion programs will be conducted at village community centers. With the goal of "a healthy community together," residents will voluntarily revive the disappearing community spirit and values, creating a space where they can live healthily in a healthy village. They will also seek ways to make the village a better place to live, sparking a wave of change toward a healthy village.
County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee said, "We will do our best to provide customized integrated health promotion services so that the healthy village development project, which enables residents to solve the village's health problems they feel firsthand, can be promoted with enthusiasm."
