The Korea Tourism Organization will collaborate with Busan City, Songdo Marine Cable Car, and Haeundae Blueline to attract the '2030 World Expo.'
On the 31st, the Korea Tourism Organization announced that it will sign a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Promotion of the 2030 World Expo Attraction" together with Busan Metropolitan City, Songdo Marine Cable Car Co., Ltd., and Haeundae Blueline Co., Ltd. in the afternoon.
The signing ceremony will be attended by Kim Jang-sil, President of the Korea Tourism Organization; Park Hyung-joon, Mayor of Busan; Choi Hyo-seop, CEO of Songdo Marine Cable Car; and Bae Jong-jin, CEO of Haeundae Blueline.
This MOU was promoted to facilitate cooperation among the four organizations and companies in the Busan City 'Bugihyo (Busan Seagull Mark)' campaign and promotional activities targeting domestic and international tourists. Bugihyo is a campaign aimed at increasing enthusiasm for the bid in preparation for the visit of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) inspection team to Korea from April 2 to 7, and it has been underway since the 24th.
The four organizations and companies plan to cooperate in promoting Busan's bid for the 2030 World Expo by utilizing the Songdo Marine Cable Car and Haeundae Blueline to target domestic and international tourists.
Kim Jang-sil, President of the Korea Tourism Organization, said, "As the leading institution for Korean tourism promotion and marketing, we consider it very meaningful to contribute to attracting a global mega-event," adding, "We will actively cooperate to build consensus among various stakeholders and create a supportive atmosphere for the successful bid of the 2030 Busan World Expo."
