KG Mobility announced on the 31st that it will begin pre-orders for the mid-size electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) Torres EVX.
The Torres EVX is the first electrified model unveiled by KG Mobility after its name change. It is an electric SUV that combines the essential technology and craftsmanship of the "SUV master" with futuristic systems and design.
The selling price is expected to be set according to the trim level at approximately ▲E5 48.5 million to 49.5 million KRW ▲E7 51 million to 52 million KRW (based on individual consumption tax reduction). Depending on regional electric vehicle subsidies, it is anticipated to form a cost-effective price that allows purchase in the 30 million KRW range.
Pre-orders for the Torres EVX will be conducted nationwide through KG Mobility (Ssangyong Motor) showrooms and online. Various benefits will be provided to customers who place pre-orders.
Until April 9, when the Seoul Mobility Show ends, 300 pre-order customers will be selected by lottery to receive a pickup & delivery charging service usable twice. Pre-order customers will also be given priority invitations to various customer experience programs hosted by KG Mobility, including test drive programs, auto camping, and exhibition events.
Additionally, to enhance convenience for pre-order customers, a dedicated KakaoTalk channel will provide exclusive updates on additional vehicle information, official launch schedules, and various event news. KakaoTalk brand emoticons symbolizing the iconic nature of the Torres EVX will also be gifted.
The front design of the Torres EVX features a powerful and clean line aesthetic and a strong, detailed horizontal LED daytime running light (DRL) called the "Kinetic Lighting Block." This emphasizes the edgy and distinctive identity unique to electric vehicles that KG Mobility aims to create. The interior design employs the slim and wide ergonomic layout applied to the Torres, allowing drivers to experience a differentiated user experience (UX).
The Torres EVX has significantly enhanced safety as well. It uses lithium iron phosphate batteries, which are increasingly adopted by global brands, to improve safety. These batteries are highly resistant to external impacts, greatly reducing fire risks and increasing durability. With optimized design, it is expected to achieve a driving range of 500 km on a single full charge (based on WLTP standards), sufficient for everyday use. According to domestic standards, it can drive over 420 km (based on internal measurements).
