Consulting for Solutions to Difficulties
The Ulsan Agricultural Technology Center will conduct consultations for young Hanwoo cattle farmers until early December.
The Hanwoo young farmers consultation targets 10 young Hanwoo farmers in the Ulsan area, providing solutions to challenges such as farm management analysis, feed cost reduction, and income increase through group education and field training.
This consultation is part of a 2022-2023 agreement with the National Institute of Animal Science under the Rural Development Administration to foster young Hanwoo farmers, marking the second year following last year's regional consultations.
In 2021, the National Institute of Animal Science signed agreements with five locations (Chungbuk Agricultural Technology Center, Ulsan Agricultural Technology Center, Hoengseong County Agricultural Technology Center, Yeonggwang County Agricultural Technology Center, and Sinan County Agricultural Technology Center) and promoted regional consultations in 2022.
This year, the number of target livestock species (Hanwoo and dairy) and selected regions has been significantly increased to expand the young farmers' cooperative network in regional hubs.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center stated, “The Hanwoo young farmers consultation aims to form a cooperative network among young Hanwoo farmers in Ulsan, supplement their lack of field experience, and enhance their Hanwoo breeding skills to help achieve stable income improvement. This year, we expect to contribute to strengthening the professionalism of young farmers through essential field technical support such as artificial insemination techniques and Hanwoo shipment performance analysis.”
