A Small Europe in Seoul, 30,000 Tulips Begin to Bloom at Mokdong Paris Park

Tulips and Cherry Blossom Trees Planted Throughout the Park, Including Paris Square, to Fully Bloom from Late March to Early April

‘Madame Proust’s Secret Garden’ Screening on April 6-7, Along with French Embroidery and Flower Arrangement Classes



Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that 30,000 tulips planted last fall and this year at Mokdong Paris Park have begun to bloom, offering visitors another visual delight.


Tulips are a representative spring flower loved worldwide and bloom early in spring. Visitors to Paris Park in early April can expect to fully enjoy the spring atmosphere of Yangcheon with 30,000 tulips and cherry blossom trees.


Within the park, there are a total of 30,000 tulips planted, including 9,000 tulips in the embroidery flower bed at Paris Square, where an Eiffel Tower model is located, and 21,000 tulips planted throughout the park. The tulip garden is vibrantly composed of various colors, including common red tulips (Apeldoorn), yellow tulips (Golden Parade), white tulips (Hakun), and tulips blending red and yellow (Denmark).

Especially, the embroidery flower bed in front of the Eiffel Tower sculpture, planted with 9,000 tulips, is an ideal spot for families, friends, and couples to take commemorative photos as if visiting a small Europe within Seoul, creating beautiful memories.


Additionally, the community center ‘Salon de Paris’ inside Paris Park will hold a special spring program for two days on April 6-7, coinciding with the tulip bloom. Visitors can enjoy the screening of the French-themed movie 'Madame Proust’s Secret Garden,' as well as experience flower arrangement and French flower embroidery classes, fully enjoying the spring atmosphere of Paris Park.


This special program is open to all Yangcheon-gu residents, and those interested can apply on a first-come, first-served basis through the ‘Seoul Public Service Reservation’ website.


Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “I wanted to share the first spring after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic with the residents,” adding, “I hope everyone can deeply feel the spring with their families and friends in outdoor spaces including Paris Park.”
