Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a regular spring conscription decree for 147,000 personnel, TASS reported on the 30th (local time).
According to the content posted on Russia's official legal information portal, conscription targets aged 18 to 27 will be summoned to the Russian military nationwide between July 1 and July 15. The number of conscripts is approximately 147,000.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the troops conscripted through the regular draft will not be deployed to the Ukrainian battlefield.
Russia maintains both a contract-based recruitment system for non-commissioned officers and a conscription system simultaneously. Conscription occurs twice a year, in spring and autumn, and males aged 18 to 27 who are subject to conscription must serve one year of mandatory military service.
Previously, in September last year, Russia issued a partial mobilization order targeting reservists, mobilizing an additional 300,000 troops to be deployed to the Ukrainian battlefield.
