In relation to the child sexual abuse allegations raised in the MBC entertainment program 'Oh Eun-young Report - Marriage Hell' (Marriage Hell), the stepfather has been booked without detention.
The Jeonbuk Provincial Police Agency announced on the 30th that a man, Mr. A, who touched his young daughter's body, has been booked without detention.
Previously, the episode of 'Marriage Hell' aired on December 19 last year was embroiled in controversy over child sexual abuse. The broadcast featured a wife with a 7-year-old daughter from her previous marriage, who was in conflict with her first-time husband, Mr. A, over child-rearing issues and personality differences.
In the broadcast, the stepfather, Mr. A, was shown engaging in excessive physical contact, such as poking the child's buttocks under the pretense of 'injection play.' Despite the child expressing her dislike of the physical contact, Mr. A continued without regard, leading to accusations of child sexual abuse.
Mr. A explained the problematic behavior as an expression of affection in the broadcast, but the controversy grew, and MBC eventually issued an official apology. MBC stated, "We focused only on analyzing the couple's issues and failed to carefully review scenes that viewers might find concerning," adding, "We have no excuse after receiving criticism about the program following the broadcast."
