Non-Gyeongnam Residents Can Apply for Rolling Admission Until May 31
An opportunity is provided to experience the beautiful natural scenery and tourist attractions in Sancheong, Gyeongnam, a pristine valley of Jirisan. Sancheong County is continuously recruiting participants for the month-long travel program ‘wellness mate, Sancheong’ until May 31.
This project, conducted as part of the ‘2023 One Month Travel in Gyeongnam’ initiative by the county and Gyeongnam Province, was established to strengthen tourism promotion and increase the number of tourists. Eligible participants are anyone aged 19 or older residing outside the Gyeongnam area.
From April to June, participants will plan and organize their own trips to actively promote various tourist resources in Sancheong County. Participants will receive support for accommodation costs (up to 50,000 KRW per day per team) and entrance and experience fees (totaling 50,000 to 80,000 KRW per person) for a minimum of 2 nights and a maximum of 29 nights.
The county plans to give preference to 30 teams (with 1 to 2 team leaders) who can actively promote Sancheong’s tourist resources through their publicly accessible SNS accounts. Meanwhile, Sancheong County, home to Jirisan’s Cheonwangbong Peak, delights visitors in spring with flowers such as moss phlox at Saengcho International Sculpture Park and azaleas at Hwangmaesan Mountain.
In summer, visitors can enjoy rafting on the Gyeonghogang River, clear valleys at the foot of Jirisan, and ecological trails that refresh both body and mind.
Especially this year, under the theme ‘Promise of the Future, Traditional Medicine in the World,’ the 2023 Sancheong World Traditional Medicine Anti-Aging Expo will be held from September 15 to October 19 at the Donguibogam Village area, offering various performances and experiential events to provide healing and relaxation to visitors.
