2023 Employment-Linked FTA Practical Course: 10 High Schools Selected

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 31st that it has finalized the selection of 10 specialized and Meister high schools to participate in the '2023 Employment-Linked FTA Practical Course.' This project will be fully launched starting in June.

The selected schools are Gyeongbok Business High School, Seoul Magnet High School, Seongam International Trade High School, Ilsin Girls' Commercial High School, Incheon Tax High School, Incheon Jungang Girls' Commercial High School, Cheonan Girls' Commercial High School, Busan Marketing High School, Busan Girls' Commercial High School, and Gyeonghwa Girls' English Business High School.

The Employment-Linked FTA Practical Course provides education on FTA utilization and trade practices to specialized and Meister high school students, as well as supports employment at local export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises. Since its inception in 2019, 542 students have completed the training, achieving an average employment rate of 82%.

The selected schools will operate the 'FTA Utilization and Export Practical Training Course' from June, educating approximately 150 students. Outstanding students will be given opportunities to experience the field in advance through overseas practical training, mock trade competitions, and customized employment consulting programs.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy stated, “Amid the global economic downturn and the recent severe employment chill, we plan to expand this project so that specialized and Meister high school students can continuously develop interest and capabilities in the field of trade and fulfill their roles as practical experts in the export sites of local small and medium-sized enterprises.”
