The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 30th at midnight that the number of new COVID-19 cases increased by 11,039, bringing the total to 30,809,762.
New cases on this day decreased by 2,095 compared to the previous day (13,134) and by 358 compared to a week ago on the 23rd (11,397). The number of cases had been rising for eight consecutive days since the 21st but shifted to a decrease on this day.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized was 143, down by 7 from the previous day.
There were 10 new COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total death toll to 34,255 (fatality rate 0.11%).
Meanwhile, according to the 'COVID-19 Crisis Level Adjustment Roadmap' announced by health authorities the previous day, the mandatory isolation period for confirmed cases may be shortened from 7 days to 5 days as early as early May. There is also speculation that the isolation requirement could be completely lifted by July.
