Domestic karaoke equipment company TJ Media announced on the 30th that it will launch the country's first "car karaoke" service.
Through its subsidiary TJ Communication, the company is entering the in-vehicle infotainment market. A TJ Media representative explained, "We have integrated TJ Media's karaoke service into the in-vehicle infotainment system 'Pop-Media' installed in recently released Renault Korea Motors QM6 and XM3 models."
Vehicle users can access TJ Media's karaoke service via tethering connection on a 9.3-inch display screen. TJ Media provides a sound experience that enhances immersion by producing high-quality backing tracks that closely replicate the original singer's tone and atmosphere. The service includes the largest domestic catalog of over 60,000 songs and updates more than 300 new songs every month.
TJ Media expects to create synergy in the karaoke equipment business by combining its differentiated sound technology and platform-building capabilities with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The company plans to advance as an infotainment platform provider.
In-vehicle infotainment (IVI) refers to the in-car environment that simultaneously provides driving-related information and various entertainment options to vehicle occupants. Car karaoke, which integrates IT technology, is expected to become a core content feature in future vehicles such as electric cars and autonomous vehicles. A TJ Media representative said, "We offer a wide range of songs from the latest pop hits to trot music," adding, "Passengers of all ages and genders can easily use the service even while driving."
