Lawyer No Jong-eon Gains Attention for Pro Bono Defense of Park Soo-hong
Legal representative of broadcaster Park Suhong, lawyer Noh Jong-eon, revealed that he did not receive a fee for taking on the defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Kim Yongho.
On the 28th, Lawyer Noh appeared on the podcast 'Jung Youngjin Choi Wook's Maebul Show' and shared, "I am representing Park Suhong for free."
He said, "I decided to take the case for Park Suhong's wife (Kim Daye), who is running around trying to save Park," adding, "I told her, 'That person (Kim Yongho) is really dangerous, and I am going to sue him. But if Park Suhong's side lies, I will become a fool and won't be able to earn much money in the future. Please take good care of our son (for his future),' and then I filed the complaint." It seems he was fully committed to the case, risking the family's future.

He continued, "At the time Park Suhong sued Kim Yongho, all his broadcasts were cut off and he had no money," and confessed, "He gave me six packs of myulran gim (seasoned seaweed with pollock roe) from his home as a retainer fee. After receiving that, I cried endlessly."
Lawyer Noh said, "It was really scary, but after filing the complaint, I felt at ease. I clearly understood the value of being a lawyer and who I should protect as a lawyer," adding, "I told the Park Suhong couple, 'The truth is the slowest and the most foolish, but it is great. Let's endure together for just one year.' And we have come this far."
YouTuber Kim Yongho, a former journalist, claimed on his YouTube channel in April 2021 that Park Suhong had committed dating violence and sexual assault in the past. In response, Park Suhong filed a lawsuit in August of the same year against Kim Yongho for defamation by spreading false information, attempted coercion, and insult. Kim Yongho was indicted without detention in October last year.
Lawyer Noh also revealed details about the trial. He said, "In court, when the judge asked, 'Do you know Kim Daye?' Kim Yongho just said, 'I don't know.' On YouTube, he acts like he knows everything, but in court, he can't say a word," expressing his anger.
He continued criticizing, "Kim Yongho does not apologize at all. He does not admit any wrongdoing," and "He cannot even submit evidence showing how he obtained such information."
Meanwhile, Kim Daye attended the trial on the 20th and urged for severe punishment, saying, "As stated in the prosecution's indictment, Kim Yongho repeatedly spread false information 31 times," and "The problem of making money by committing character assassination through fake news must disappear."
