[2023 Asset Disclosure] Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop Reports 2.4 Billion Won... Decrease in Deposit Amount

According to the 2023 regular asset change report for public officials disclosed by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee on the 30th through the official gazette, Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-seop reported a total of 2,449,420,000 KRW in assets, including apartments in Jamsil, Songpa-gu, Seoul, and Yeongtong, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, held together with his spouse. The leasehold right worth 20,000,000 KRW on the commercial building of Gwanggyo Hoban Verdiium in Iui-dong, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, previously held by his spouse, was lost.

Due to changes in real estate prices and other factors, the total decreased by 31,710,000 KRW compared to the previous report. He, his spouse, and his second daughter hold domestic and international stocks worth 154,070,000 KRW, including Kakao and Tesla. The eldest daughter refused to disclose her assets, citing independent living. Minister Lee's bank deposits amount to 122,835,000 KRW, down from 124,783,000 KRW last year. He reported that the decrease was due to living expenses.
